Cohort Entry to School

Turuturu School does not have cohort entry to school. Five year old children start school close to their 5th birthday. We did a 'sample' of parent voice at the end of Term 3, which really only involved the junior school parents. Here was are the results... 37% support a change to cohort entry. 62% support the status quo. As a result no immediate change to cohort entry is envisioned.

ROAD WORKS AT GLOVER RD ROUND ABOUT

Picture of detours

We will set up Stage 2 SH3 South Bound, & Glover Road West Bound combined detour tonight (Blue and Red). You will still be able to exit and enter near the school but no crossing the roundabout through Glover Road. Traffic coming from the Racecourse will need to follow the blue route which will be sign posted.

This will be followed by Stage 3 Glover Road East Bound on Thursday Night (Green). With this Glover Road is closed at the roundabout and you will approach the School only from the West and exit to the West. We suggest the School bus turns in County Drive to change direction. The back entrance to the Furlong will be closed per their request as the access is private.

The Pedestrian crossing at Waihi Road is effectively unaffected – from tonight the traffic will only be travelling North.

Yellow and black routes are local traffic detours to Exit Glover Rd.

Northbound traffic on Waihi continuing North is unaffected. Stage 3 will be in effect until advised and the other detours will be in effect until 15 December as weather conditions allow.
